I
Walk with me in wonderful halls
of glorious history and behold
the pictures of great men and women
eternalized upon these great walls.
Together we will dance and celebrate
tragedies great and victories small
and ponder philosophies of long dead heroes
over goblets of wine that will satiate
dry palates longing for the blood of the fruit of the vine.
Here we will dip our daily bread
musing over the life giving stuff
of bread that is flesh and blood that is wine.
Here our minds will be filled with glorious history
while our souls feed upon life and love’s greatest mystery.
That is a large "one," not an "I." So as to indicate the first poem in a series.
